Ocarinas

Ocarina-like instruments have been made since ancient times. Because they are usually an enclosed resonator, unlike a whistle or flute, they cannot be overblown to product a second octave. They are made in a great variety of shapes and from many different materials. In one particular shape, the ocarina is commonly called a "sweet potato". In 19th century Italy, different sizes of ocarinas were used in ocarina bands. Our ocarinas are glazed ceramic with 6 holes. Traditionally ocarinas are worn around the neck. For this purpose, our ocarinas come with a braided leather strap.
